The Office of Student Engagement and Community Services, in keeping with the mission of Virginia Union University, provides opportunities for students to serve the Richmond Community by collaborating with our 50 community partners to complete numerous service initiatives. Students are placed at service sites based on interest, course of study and availability. These placements help to develop a lifelong passion for service and civic engagement, thereby strengthening community and university relationships.
Community partners are selected annually and are invited to participate in Service Fairs where students can engage with community partners, interview, and commit to placements on the spot. The 2016-2017 Fall Community Service Partner Fair will be August 30, 2016 in Henderson Center 10-12, from 11:00 am to 1:00pm.
We are most proud to announce that VUU’s students completed over 28,000 hours of service during the 2015-2016 academic year!
