Listed below are Frequently Asked Questions to help you work through your individual situations.
- Have the hours of operation changed for the University?
- No, VUU will continue to operate on our normal business hours until further notice.
- Will I be permitted to work remotely/telework?
- Division VP’s will be working directly with their employees to determine who, if any, employees would be permitted to work from home. The policy and guidelines will be shared with impacted individuals.
- What happens should I be required to self-quarantine due to COVID-19?
- Employees should notify HR as soon as possible of any recommended or required quarantine periods due to the virus. Questions and concerns regarding the use of sick time will be answered directly by HR on a case by case basis.
- If I am not feeling well and do not have sick time available, what do I do?
- Please contact HR as soon as you can to notify us that you are not feeling well. Please do not come to work if you are not feeling well or are feeling symptomatic. HR will address the use of sick time on a case by case basis.
- My child/children are not in school and I don’t have childcare, what do I do?
- Please notify your immediate supervisor and HR as soon as you know you will need to use annual or sick leave to care for children. HR will work with you and your supervisor for a modified work schedule, use of leave or other options as approved.
- I am worried about how this virus may impact my family and me. Are there any health services or employee programs to help me cope or make decisions?
- Is there any way I can reach a healthcare provider remotely if I am self-quarantined or if I am not feeling well?

- I am traveling internationally; do I have access to medical benefits or services while I am out of the country?
